About Seeking Advice
As a general rule, if you are concerned about your child’s posture or the way your child moves, book an appointment and ask about it. After all, you know your child best!
We would recommend you seek advice if you are aware of any of the following…
Infants (0-12 months):
Your baby’s movement development is delayed/they are not achieving motor milestones at the same rate as most babies their age — learn more here
Your baby has a flat spot on their head and/or they prefer to look/tilt their head to one side
Your baby feels particularly floppy or stiff when you are handling them
Your baby is not tolerating tummy time
Your baby was born prematurely <37 weeks gestation and/or with low birth weight <2.5kg
Your baby demonstrates an unusual joint posture
There are differences between left and right limb posture/movement
Children (1-17 years):
Your child’s movement development is delayed/they are not achieving motor milestones at the same rate as most children their age — learn more here
Your child has an unusual walking pattern or posture
Your child seems clumsy/uncoordinated or falls frequently
Your child complains of joint/muscular pain
Your child complains of fatigue more frequently than other children their age
Your child requires equipment to help them move/participate in movement activities
Your child is overweight and requires support to exercise, achieve weight loss and protect joint health
